Set B6 - Wild Flowers Series 2 - card information

14. Pasque Flower (Anemone pulsatilla L.)

14. Pasque Flower

A rare and beautiful flower found wild only on chalky pastures and downs in England, though it is grown in many gardens. Its stalks and leaves are covered with silver hairs and even the flowers are hairy on their outer sides. It flowers in May, and at first the flowers are erect but later they droop. The bright flowers attract many insects, particularly bees, which help to pollinate them.
