Set B6 - Wild Flowers Series 2 - card information

35. Foxglove
(Digitalis purpurea L.)

35. Foxglove

On banks and by hedges, in rough heath, and in woods and copses, the Foxglove grows and thrives. Its tall spike of rosy-purple flowers springs from a rosette of large downy leaves. The flower sprays may reach a height of from two to four feet. It often grows in large colonies which, when in full bloom, can provide a wonderful mass of colour. It flowers from July to September.
