Set B6 - Wild Flowers Series 2 - card information

4. Daffodil
(Narcissus pseudo-narcissus L.)

4. Daffodil

The wild Daffodil is very local in its distribution. It favours damp woods and pastures in England and Wales and is a true native. In its chosen place it grows in great profusion, and seen thus it is a beautiful and gladsome sight, for at that time - in mid-March - there are few other flowers in bloom. The true wild form has a perianth of pale yellow and a crown of deeper yellow.
